Hello to all on the last day of the 2010. While I can admit that my script is not perfect, it is not meant to work as plug-and-play. Some modifications will have to be done to suit your individual requirements.
Zero pad rename, your comment got me to thinking a few things.
Folks, check out the script(s) at http://questionlounge.com/zero-pad-rename-e-g-image-2-jpg-image-002-jpg/
– if you’ve got a situation where you need to zero-pad a file name, a Perl script is probably better suited to do the kind of renaming than my script above.
Note to readers: The comment above “You can build a better rename tool for Cygwin with this shell script using sed.” was found on the questionlounge site that clicks back to this one.
That was way-cool of you. Thanks for the link back and of course saying to people that this script is a good way to go for Cygwin users.
A linux VM set up on a Windows machine is also good advice, but it might not be easily accomplished in short time. While Cygwin has it’s flaws (no regex in ‘rename’ command), it is a faster turn around to setup.
Thanks for your comment Zero Pad. Have a great Day!
Thanks for this. Exactly what I needed and it worked without any modifications.
I suggest to try KrojamSoft BatchRenameFiles program. It’s really work for me.
